Rain moves in today

Filed in:

Rain will today move in from the north west as a low in the Tasman Sea creeps closer.

Northland, Taranaki and the West Coast are likely to see the first drops of rain with rain in most western and northern centres by night time.

The frontal band will pass over the country tonight and tomorrow morning - but only a few spits are expected in eastern areas.

Winds will turn more westerly and will be brisk in exposed places.

The spring weather means frosts are again unlikely as windy or cloudy conditions prevail across New Zealand.
