With stormy conditions around the country over the last couple of weeks, and blustery, wet weather making its presence felt, we wanted to know how many kiwis had used heating this month in our latest poll.

It turns out most New Zealanders have, or are, using heating already – as the month draws to a close, and we finally say goodbye to our lingering summer.

Three quarters of all respondents said they have or are using heating in May – meaning the remaining 25% are still holding out – and as temperatures in some places are still high, it makes sense that not everyone would be in the same boat.
