The last month of Spring kicks in tomorrow and today we’re taking a look at average maximum daytime and overnight temperatures for numerous centres across the country and what we can expect in terms of temperatures for the month of November.

Wanganui:         Min: 10.9      Max: 18.8

Palmerston North: Min: 10.2   Max: 18.5

Blenheim:          Min: 9.6           Max: 20.1

Recorded by whom? Also, why are more recent years excluded, and what sites have been used (though this would generally be answered by simply providing a complete citation or linking to the original data)?

Normals for 1981-2010 are not available yet. The Dunedin figures are for Musselburgh, whose values on an annual basis understate the city for maxima, but overstate the minima. The net result flatters the city somewhat, considering the typical elevations. Wellington data are for Kelburn, and are about 0.9C lower than at sea level sites..
