An anticyclone brings mainly settled weather to New Zealand today, a front moves onto the lower South Island overnight.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

A sunny day after a frosty start, some cloud hangs about the far north of Northland during the day. Light winds.
Highs: 13-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mostly sunny after a frosty start, some cloud later this evening. Light west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 10-14

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny although there may be some coastal cloud which breaks away during the morning, west to southwest winds die out by midday.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington

Mostly sunny with a few clouds from afternoon, northwesterly winds freshen.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny after a frosty start, afternoon northwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-14

Canterbury

A mainly sunny day after a frosty start. Some evening high cloud, light northerly winds tending more northeast about the coast.
High: 12

West Coast

A mainly sunny start then cloud increases from afternoon, evening drizzle then overnight rain moves into South Westland. North to northeast winds.
Highs: 11-12

Southland & Otago

A mainly sunny day after a frosty start. Some evening high cloud, light northerly winds tending more northeast about coastal Otago.
