Anticyclonic conditions this morning for most then a northwesterly airflow starts to build over the South Island from afternoon.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, southwesterly winds about Auckland and the Waikato. Afternoon sea breezes about Northland and the Bay Of Plenty.
Highs: 24-27

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mostly cloudy with the chance of a drizzle patch or shower at times, the Central North Island is mainly dry with afternoon sunny spells. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 21-25

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with light southerlies tending easterly this afternoon, some cloud at times especially about the Wairarapa.
Highs: 22-24

Wellington

Morning cloud with the chance of a shower, afternoon sunny spells. Light southerlies tend northerly after midday.
High: 21

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny after any morning cloud breaks away, northeasterly winds about Marlborough. Nelson sees afternoon northerlies.
Highs: 21-24

Canterbury

Morning cloud breaks to afternoon sunny spells, easterly winds freshen.
High: 19

West Coast

Any morning cloud breaks to mainly sunny weather, west to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 18-19

Southland & Otago

Mostly sunny with some high cloud possible about Southland and Central Otago. Morning cloud for coastal Otago breaks to mainly sunny weather, east to northeasterly winds freshen.
