Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

A few showers, mainly this morning then becoming drier into the afternoon. The Bay Of Plenty may not see showers till around midday. Brisk to strong southwesterly winds.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A few showers, especially this afternoon then easing in the evening as westerlies change southerly. Strong southwesterlies about Taranaki.

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny this morning, showers develop this afternoon possibly heavy with thunderstorms and hail as southwesterlies freshen. Showers clear overnight.

Wellington
Some cloud, afternoon showers (possibly heavy with hail) as northwesterlies change gusty southerly.
High: 20
 
Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny spells, showers develop this afternoon some of which may be heavy with hail then easing overnight. Light winds tend southerly then easterly after midday about Marlborough, southwesterly winds for Nelson.

Canterbury
Showers, some may be heavy with a risk of hail then easing during the afternoon and clearing overnight. Brisk to strong Sou’Westerly winds.

West Coast
Early showers clear to sunny spells, further showers in the afternoon about North Westland with the chance of a heavy fall then clearing evening. Southwesterly winds.

Southland & Otago
Showers, some may be heavy this morning with a risk of hail then easing and clearing this evening. Brisk to strong southwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-16
