A northeasterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, areas of cloud especially in the east. A few isolated showers possible late afternoon / evening mainly for a few western regions.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Areas of cloud with humid easterly winds, risk of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening about the Waikato. Northland sees mostly cloudy skies all day with the odd shower about.
High: 24-28

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mostly sunny with some high cloud, cloud builds a little about Taranaki in the afternoon and there may be an isolated shower there late afternoon / evening. Winds tend southeast for most however tending northerly in the afternoon about Taranaki.
Highs: 25-28

Eastern North Island

A chance of early drizzle, cloud breaks to a few sunny areas this afternoon. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 21-22

Wellington

Mostly sunny with some high cloud, light winds from the easterly quarter.
High: 24

Marlborough & Nelson

Morning cloud breaks to afternoon sunny areas, east to southeasterly winds about Marlborough. Afternoon northeasterlies for Nelson.
Highs: 23-24

Canterbury

Any drizzle clears this morning then cloud breaks to a few sunny areas this afternoon, east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 21-24

West Coast

Mostly sunny with light winds, cloud builds about the ranges in the afternoon with the chance of a few isolated heat showers late afternoon / evening. About inland Buller showers may turn to thunderstorms then clearing later this evening.
Highs: 24-29

Southland & Otago

Morning cloud breaks to sunny areas for most although cloud may hang about the Otago coast for much of the day, light winds tend southerly this afternoon for most although expect afternoon easterlies for coastal Otago. Warmest temperatures inland.
Highs: 20-28
