InfoGraphic: The Big Picture on Monday

A low west of the North Island weakens on Monday however it still brings unsettled weather to most of New Zealand.

A mix of showers and sunny spells for the western North Island, areas of dry / sun more frequent in the morning then during the afternoon heavy isolated showers develop with possible thunderstorms. Rain with heavy falls moves into eastern parts of the North Island during the day including the Bay Of Plenty especially in the east, this area of rain eases in the evening.

For the South Island it continues to be cloudy in the east with showers or drizzle, rain moving into Marlborough may be heavy at times during the day then easing in the evening. The best weather is about Fiordland, Central Otago and Southland once again however just watch for the chance of some isolated showers developing over the mountains of Fiordland in the afternoon due to the warm conditions.
