Low pressure sits west of the country today directing a northeasterly airflow over New Zealand.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Patchy rain or showers gradually ease during the day then clearing in the evening. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 23-25

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly cloudy, the odd shower possible. Taranaki sees morning rain, easing to showers then clearing in the afternoon. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 22-25

Eastern North Island
Sunny areas and some high cloud, northeasterly winds.
Highs: 23-24

Wellington
Cloudy areas and some sun, may be a morning shower. Northerly winds.
High: 24

Marlborough & Nelson
Areas of rain, coastal Marlborough is looking a bit drier with only the chance of a shower. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 23-25

Canterbury
Cloudy areas, the odd shower possible especially for inland areas then later in the day nearer the coast. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 22-25

West Coast
Areas of rain, may be a heavy fall at times. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 21-23

Southland & Otago
Rain eases with dry spells developing in the afternoon, some sun may even break through. The odd shower may still continue for the rest of the day. Coastal Otago may be fairly dry with a few showers then possible in the afternoon / evening. Light easterly quarter winds.
Highs: 22-25
