A southwesterly lies over most of New Zealand today, moving around a large high in the Tasman Sea.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud with southwesterly winds, a few isolated showers possible for the Bay Of Plenty and Northland late afternoon / evening.
Highs: 22-24

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Any morning cloud clears then mostly sunny with afternoon west to northwest winds.
Highs: 20-22

Eastern North Island
Early cloud breaks to sunny weather for the Wairarapa and Hawkes Bay, light winds tend east to northeast in the afternoon. Gisborne sees slightly cloudier skies during the day with a few coastal morning showers possible, showers more likely in the ranges from afternoon.

Wellington
Mostly sunny weather with north to northwesterly winds.
High: 21

Marlborough & Nelson
Early cloud breaks to sunny weather, light winds tend easterly in the afternoon for Marlborough. Light afternoon northerlies in Nelson.
Highs: 22-23

Canterbury
Mostly sunny with light winds tending easterly in the afternoon, some cloud later in the evening.
Highs: 18-21

West Coast
Areas of cloud and some sun at times, a shower or two possible now and then also otherwise mainly dry. West to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 18-21

Southland & Otago
Mostly cloudy with showers about Southland, morning sun for Otago then a few showers move in late afternoon / evening. Westerlies tend southwest in the afternoon, gusty about some coastal areas.
Highs: 16-22
