An anticyclone pushes in over New Zealand today, a weak front moves over the North Island during the day.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Chance of a morning shower, sunny spells otherwise with southwesterly winds.
Highs: 26-28

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A few morning showers then sunny spells break through, southeasterly winds.
Highs: 22-26

Eastern North Island
Cloudy or becoming cloudy in the morning with southeasterly winds freshening, a few light showers about the Wairarapa in the morning then drying out in the afternoon. Chance of a shower further north in the afternoon otherwise mainly dry.
Highs: 20-22

Wellington
Any morning showers clear then sunny areas increase. Southeasterly winds ease in the evening.
High: 20

Marlborough & Nelson
Cloudy areas and occasional sun, chance of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening for inland areas. East to southeasterly winds for Marlborough, afternoon northerlies in Nelson.
Highs: 22-23

Canterbury
Any early drizzle clears, cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather in the afternoon. East to northeasterly winds freshen.
Highs: 18-21

West Coast
Mostly sunny with light winds in the morning then afternoon west to southwest winds.
Highs: 20-26

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny after any morning cloud breaks away. Northwesterlies about Southland tending west to southwest in the afternoon. Light winds for inland areas. East to northeasterly winds for eastern Otago.
